Have you ever watched the last episode of an anime, or read the last chapter of a manga, scoffed, and went "ugh, even I could've written a better ending?" Yeah, exactly.
As a part growing up, I've watched my fair share of anime, and dabbled in manga. In the making of that though, I had ideas for a book series to bring to life. Within that was born AURORA, a project of fairly massive proportions being constructed the only way I knew how—a fantasy book. I had all these dreams for dramatic fight scenes, arguments over power scaling, badass one liners—and wanted to bring a rich story to life while preserving the hunger present in so many shows and books with an ever-growing, ever evolving cast of characters, without making arcs too drawn out, and also while allowing a wealth of side stories to also be created.
Every story beat breathes on its own, from blind construction, to isolation, to rebellion, to retribution.
Want to feel the rough come-up of characters struggling through every battle over and over before a breakthrough? Do you want to feel the weight of every decision, the ripple of every Freudian slip? That's who I write AURORA for.
Here, you can preview content for that. First up, the only preview available, is AURORA: FANTASIA, the first of a multi-arc, expansive narrative universe. Feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated, especially as the series goes on. Let me know of any ideas you have: @reiavenir on Instagram!
Oh, and if you happen to do art? I can't draw to save my life, so I would love to get in contact with anyone for a few illustrations!
